The influence of the phase composition of high-carbon complex-alloyed bearing steel on its hardness and wear resistance under dry sliding friction conditions has been studied. Using magnetic and X-ray diffraction analysis methods, the change in the residual austenite content was determined to be in the range from 37 to 3 %. It is shown that the maximum wear resistance (2,15·10-5 mm3/(N·m)) is achieved with a content of 30–37 % metastable austenite, despite the reduced hardness (57 HRC). An increase in the proportion of martensite to 90–97 % increases the hardness to 64 HRC; however, the wear rate increases by 140 %.

This article considers features of laser surface cleaning of the aluminum alloy. A metallographic assessment of the surface layer structure was carried out, and roughness parameters were measured under various laser exposure conditions. The thickness of the layer removed per laser beam pass was determined. Based on the obtained experimental data, a graph of the roughness dependence on power was plotted, which made it possible to identify the optimal cleaning modes providing minimal roughness at stable material removal depth. It has been shown that laser cleaning is an effective method for surface finishing.

The paper provides a review of scientific and technical literature on fluoroelastomers that are most promising for manufacturing rubber compounds used in aircraft fuel systems operated at elevated temperatures in contact with fuels and oils. It has been revealed that perfluoroelastomers are the most heat-resistant type of rubber, the service temperature of which can reach 315 °C. It has been established that in the Russian Federation, the most promising grades of fluoroelastomers are produced by JSC «HaloPolymer» and FSUE «Research Institute of Synthetic Rubber» (FSUE «SRIIRS»).

Post-curing of GFRP based on a bismaleimide binder was carried out by varying the post-curing temperature and time. The thermophysical properties of the material were determined by DSC and DMA methods. The mechanical properties of the material were determined by flexural and interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) tests. The shift of curing reaction peak, visual changes in the material, and changes in its mechanical properties with the increase of the curing temperature and time were studied. Recommendations for selecting the operating temperature of the material and proposals for further research are provided.

This article is devoted to the production of three-layer fiberglass pipes using continuous winding with low-frequency vibration applied to the mandrel. A set of physical models describing the influence of vibration parameters on structure-formation processes and curing kinetics is substantiated. It is shown that selection frequency and amplitude of vibration allows for a significant reduction in residual porosity without compromising the homogeneity of the composite. The developed approach provides a scientific basis for the engineering design of vibration modules and ensures improved quality, reliability, and competitiveness of pipe products with minimal additional energy consumption.

The surface topography of VPS-53/T-25 fiberglass was studied after 24 months of outdoor climatic testing in moderate and moderately warm climates, as well as after laboratory simulation tests in two modes. After each exposure, the surface topography characteristics of the samples were analyzed, plotting the distribution of surface irregularity heights. Significant differences in the rate of change in the centers of the surface irregularity distribution were revealed during both full-scale and accelerated laboratory climatic tests.

The structure, chemical composition, and magnetic properties of (PrDy)(FeCo)B microwires were studied after vacuum annealing and localized laser irradiation. It was shown that laser irradiation of amorphous microwires causes localized changes in composition, including a decrease in the rare-earth element content in the irradiated zone, whereas in the polycrystalline state, the composition remains virtually unchanged. Vacuum annealing leads to crystallization of the material and transition from a magnetically soft to a magnetically hard state with an increase in coercivity and magnetic anisotropy.
