Abstract
A regression model has been developed for the new carbon-containing nickel-based superalloy VZhL22 with 2 wt.% Re to predict the effect of casting process parameters on the grain size in polycrystalline castings. The structure forming features of the alloy in polycrystalline and single-crystal castings and turbine blades were investigated during casting and heat treatment. The macro- and microstructures formed during casting and heat treatment provide enhanced short-term strength and long-term strength creep characteristics for polycrystalline castings.
