Abstract

The paper presents the patterns of dry friction of freely sintered and reactively sintered silicon carbide from the load and sliding speed paired with materials of different types. The first part of the article compares the tribological characteristics of two types of silicon carbide with polymer materials and graphite. These materials are widely used in friction units due to their ability to self-lubricate, which is of the greatest interest for this study and recommendations for possible use expansion.
