Investigation of the effect of the thermosetting binder composition on the properties of fiberglass plastics
Abstract
The article considers the effect of thermosetting binder composition on the mechanical and fire-safety properties of fiberglass plastics for use in aircraft interior structures. It is shown that the choice of polymer matrix determines not only the strength and stiffness of the material, but also its fire resistant properties. The article analyzes the specific features of epoxy and phenol-formaldehyde binders, as well as methods for their modification. Based on the scientific and technical literature data, and conducted research, a new molten phenol-formaldehyde binder has been developed.
