Abstract

This article examines the influence of vibration on a mandrel during the production of fiberglass pipes using the continuous winding method. Porosity reduction mechanisms associated with deaeration, improved filler wetting, and vibration compaction of the structure are considered. The influence of vibration frequency and amplitude on the pore volume fraction was experimentally determined. The maximum porosity reduction was 69,8 % at a frequency of 100 Hz and an amplitude of 0,4 mm. A regression model for predicting porosity and optimizing process parameters was developed.
