Application of dielectric heating in the removal of model compositions from shell molds in the production of cast blades for gas turbine engines.
Part 1
Abstract
Removal of model masses from ceramic shell molds is one of the complex technological operations in the manufacture of gas turbine engine parts by the method of investment casting. This review considers the possibilities of using dielectric (microwave) heating as a promising method for removing model compositions. In the first part, the article considers the features of the behavior of a material that does not conduct electric current and is placed in an electromagnetic field. Also the requirements for the designs of dielectric heating units are given, and the main areas of their use are listed.
